Home Cleaning Suggestions – Removal of Pet Vomit from Carpeting

Do you have naughty pets at home? One of the pains they could cause you is pooping or vomiting on your elegant carpeting. Dog or cat vomit is disgusting and it normally causes an ugly stain. A pets vomit causes a very nasty stain because it is acidic in nature. The stain should be removed right away to avoid permanent discoloration of your carpeting. This does not have to be difficult since a vomit stain can be removed easily with commercial cleaning detergents found in various hardware stores. Even so, you must ensure that the chosen chemical cannot damage a carpet.

So you might need to test a small portion of your rug as long as it is not very visible. The first thing that you should do is to collect the disgusting vomit with two pieces of torn plywood, cardboard or plate. As if rejoining the two pieces together, push each half beneath the vomited stuff and pick it up carefully. Since the vomit is usually comprised of solid and liquid, try to press down the parts as much as possible to collect the liquid filth easily. Once you pick it up entirely, throw it away together with the items used to pick it up in a garbage bin. The stain removal work will now begin.

Prepare warm water, pour it on the stained carpeting area and rub thoroughly with an absorbent piece of cloth. If you have not purchased a chemical detergent for removing stains from carpets, you could use vinegar, baking powder, table salt or ammonia. If you decide to pour baking powder on the wet stain, you should give it adequate time to dry. Then using your vacuum cleaner, suck up the baking soda and sprinkle another small quantity of soda once again. Leave it this way for half an hour and remove it with a vacuum cleaner. From this point you may use a carpet cleaner to wide up the vomit removal procedure.
