Helping My Neighbor With Her Garden Borders And Edging
I have an elderly neighbor who does not work in her yard much anymore. She is a widow with no family members that live near her. They have all left the city because their jobs transferred them to other places. When the last of her children moved away I promised I would keep my eye on her and I do. Once a week I go next door to check on her. I go to the grocery store every two weeks to do her shopping and occasionally I will drive her to church if she is feeling well enough to walk up the steps of the church. There is something I need to do whenever I can find the time and that is to clean her garden. The flower beds are so overgrown and the shrubs need trimming. Even her garden borders and edging need cleaning. It has been at least four months since anyone cleaned her yard and it sure looks like it. I have decided to work in her yard this coming weekend and I will work in my yard the following weekend. Today I am making a list of plants and materials I will need to completely clean up the entire yard including the concrete edging and then plant some flowers in my neighbors garden. I know the beds will look beautiful after I work on the landscape edging. When I complete my list I will confirm with her everything I plan to do in her garden before I begin this project.
I know this will take two days to complete, but I want to bring her yard back to the way it was when she worked in the garden. I want the garden borders to make her landscaping stand out like it used to. Her yard was beautiful, well maintained and the type of edging for gardens she used gave it that groomed look. I plan on making sure it looks that way again.
