The Secret (2006) is a movie based on the law of attraction. It was developed into a book with the same title and both the book and the movie gained media attention most notably on the Oprah Winfrey show. The presented ideas have been criticized by many, like some people wonder why there is so much pain and suffering in the world if the universe manifests abundance at a mere thought. Criticisms have also come from Skeptic Inquirer magazine claiming that there is lack of falsifiability and testability of the theories presented in the book.

Some physicists have even classified the law of attraction as immeasurable and question the likelihood of thoughts affecting anything outside the head. The fun part is, the law of attraction is actually just one the 11 Forgotten Laws. Questions have been made on the references to modern scientific theory that misrepresents the electrical activity of brainwaves. Well, all these could be true or false.
